I move on Saturday!! That’s right..THIS Saturday I will be packing up my little Saturn with my cat and two great (and crazy..in a good way) friends and we are driving across this country to LA!!

I can not tell you how excited I am. The time has FINALLY come. After 18 months of racking up frequent flyer miles and spending countless hours at airports and worst of all having to say goodbye to my girfriend..i don’t have to do any of that anymore!

All of my stuff is already there and moved into the house that we had decorated. i will make sure to share pictures as soon as i get there. My love has been in the house since the end of November so the cat and I are the last pieces of the puzzle.

I plan on documenting our drive to LA..so..stay tuned because this is gonna be a funny ride

1. I notified my boss of me getting the hell out of here in November and put the hiring of a replacement in the forefront of everyone’s minds. In my line of work it is hard to find cultivated individuals that aren’t campaign gypsies..and it’s even harder to find good people to start in November when everyone is trying to get a breather from a campaign season that is going to be a complete bitch.
2. I moved from my apartment to my childhood bedroom. This was a big move for me. Financially it means that I am gonna save LOADS of money over the next 7 months but psychologically it’s putting me in a place where I have little room and even less privacy. I’m a taurus.. I feel easily caged in..so to be physically caged in in a place I havent lived for more than 2 months in 7 years is a big squeeze. A part of me feels like I lost so much independence. It is very uncommon to live with your family in these parts (bc the cost of living is so low pretty much anyone can afford rent) The good part of this however is that it puts me in a place of great reflection..this is the house and the room where I discovered myself many many years ago..so..we’ll see what happens
3. I bought a car… well more important than the car.. I got my drivers license. Maybe more on that later..its a touchy complex subject that requires more than just a brief overview.

I won’t be back to LA until May 22 ( I was in LA for Valentines Day in Feb, and twice in March for  My Boo’s Bday, and her work recognition party.) It’s really hard not going back for so long.. but I know we are both using the time to get life in order…

I just downloaded the WordPress app on my phone..so maybe I’ll be here more often. i really do have so much to document about this move..and life.. and of course love..

We shall see..

So I’ve hit the ground running in 2010..because I am moving to LA THIS YEAR! I have already started talking with my job to prepare them for my departure at the end of the year, I’m three classes from having my masters, I’m moving very soon to my mom’s house to help me stock pile the $$$, and I’m in the process of going through all my contacts to help me find my way into politics and organizing in LA. Everything is moving and that makes me happy! It also makes me happy that between now and June I will get to visit LA 5 times!

Soooo much to come..and no more long absences..

I can’t believe its been a month since I updated this blog.  I apologize for my absence but its been a little crazy. A trip to LA, my Love surprising me in STL, planning and executing a 10th Anniversary dinner for my job, SCHOOL. I’ve been a little in over my head.

But I will be back in action as soon as the semester is over. And I’m gonna change some things so I can keep you all updated more often. Like, a Flickr page so the blog gets pics the same time as facebook.

When I come back in mid December I will be back in over drive as I am going to try and work on drafting posts so they are ready to go. Get Ready..

Until then I’ll be working hard to plan events for work, write a research paper on hazardous waste in racially minority communities, figure out a workable schedule for next year, and most importantly enjoy my beautiful Girlfriend for 11 days over the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Living in this life is like jail sometimes.

I feel trapped. I have a clear picture of what my life in LA is going to look like. I know what it is going to feel like..taste like..smell like. I just can’t have it yet. I have to finish my work at a job that requires all of my time. I have to finish school which I’m neglecting because of work.

It makes me so sad to do those two simple things everyday. It makes me angry. It makes me feel like everything is out to get me. And then I start acting like the most simple little things (the way someone talks to me, a harmless comment, a joke) are huge…and then I’m angry at myself for not acting like myself.

Unfortunately the only person, other than myself, that gets to see this stress and pms induced cycle is my love. She is a saint. She listens to me babble thru tears and talk my way thru anger and back to normal me. I am so lucky to have such a wonderfully supportive woman that loves me no matter what and just wants me to be happy (and yes love..even thru all my frustrations I really am happy..how could I not be? Every time I hear you say my name..it makes my day THANK YOU for understanding me when I’m making no sense at all and knowing that I love you no matter how sad or stressed I get)

This too shall pass..and soon enough I will get my real life. (I can’t wait for my peak into my life next week..YAY)

I’ve never buckled under stress (well..just that one time) I’ve never given up, I’ve never felt like I couldn’t finish what I started. And this time I won’t either.

This time I’m lucky… I’ve never been loved so much before

I have so much i want to write about..

But guess what…I have a exam on Tuesday sooooo..gotta study.lol

I really really miss blogging about life and what makes my life go around..like my trips and fun..all the pre-LA things..and food y music!!

I’m a city girl..and while I appreciate the beauty and importance of nature (my first word as a child was “outside”) I never get to enjoy this type of nature. The complete silence, absence of pollution, completely and closely surrounded by nature and all it holds. I’ve seen all types of wild animals, happy California cows on hills eating grass, bugs.

Oh..I forgot to say why I’m in the wilderness. I’m at the SPIN Project’s SPIN Academy.

Tonight will be the last night that I get to enjoy the wonders of nature..tomorrow I’ll be back in the city snuggled in a bed at the Fourseasons with my love. I can’t wait.

So to remedy that I have decided to carry around my full Backpack with at least one book in it everyday. This way no matter where I go I can pop out my book and do a problem or two.

So if anyone in STL sees a girl in the grocery store with an LSAT book while pushing a cart..that’s me! lol

I have also decided I need more blogs for my blogroll (and my google reader) I want to focus on blogs about people making big moves in their lives, people living in places and starting new journeys, Law student blogs and blogs about Southern Cali.[A big plus would be these blogs in the POC and/or queer varieties] If you know of any..Leave ‘em in the comments section..and if you have any other blogs that you can’t stop raving about, yours included..let me know those too..

I haven’t been back to LA in a few weeks I won’t be back in LA until Labor Day weekend. I’ll be in the Bay  area  at the end of the month for the SPIN Academy..and will be spending 24 hours there with my love… Doesn’t seem like much but I take every bit I can get.

Since my last trip I’ve just been working and working and working.. The Federal Healthcare Reform work is killing me. I was at the McCaskill Townhall when THIS happened..that was the scariest room I have ever been in. Those Tea Baggers are really just a bunch of racist white people that need somewhere to direct their anger that we have a black president.

Other than work I’ve been trying to stay on top of studying for the LSAT. I’m taking it at the end of next month. I need to get in super HIGH GEAR and start doing atleast one full test a week and 5-10 problems a day..so today..right here on my blog I am Promising (with a BIG “P”) to make that happen. I need to get the best score I can get so I can get in Law School in the first fall I’m in LA (2011)

School starts the same week I go to the Bay..so lets hope they don’t give out a bunch of work right in the beginning. I am so happy I don’t have any books to buy this semester.. that takes a load off.

Well I’m gonna go do a LSAT problem or two… I’ll make sure to keep you updated on life..
